We believe it is very important for perspective owners of rabbits to buy from a breeder. This said not all breeders are the same and some can be more trusted than others. Sunflower Nursery uses techniques from the most recent and trusted research to provide rabbits which are good natured, friendly and tame. Please consider the information provided on our Socialisation and Habituation Page, it will tell you more about why our rabbits are equipped with skills and kindness to benefit both yourself and the rabbit in future life. It is worth checking with any other breeder you contact if they have a Socialisation and Habituation programme before considering any rabbit for obvious reasons.
Sunflower Hotel
Sunflower Hotel is a home run small animal boarding hotel. We have over 15 years experience in owning and keeping a variety of small animals and over 4 years experience in breeding rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas and African Pygmy Hedgehogs.
Here at Sunflower Hotel we pride ourselves on our friendly, professional and knowledgeable approach to caring for both our own animals and yours. All animals are kept in secure housing and are given daily attention and exercise in indoor or outdoor runs.
Rabbits and guinea pigs have the luxury of staying in a large, secure wooden shed which has 3 large windows to allow as much natural light as possible and has 2 large opening doors to allow light and fresh air in the warmer weather (open doors are protected with a second, netted door which prevents flies and other insects from entering the shed). If your pet is used to living in an outdoor wooden hutch, and you would like them to stay in one of these, this can also be catered for in one of our large outdoor rabbit and guinea pigs hutches.
Rabbits and guinea pigs also get ample daily exercise time under supervision in our secure garden or play pen (whichever you think is appropriate). All rabbit and guinea pig cages include all necessary accessories plus a fun chew toy which your pet can keep at the end of its stay. If you would like your pet to stay in its own cage and you can transport it safely then this can also be accommodated.
Other small animals can also be catered for including hamsters, mice, rats, gerbils, chinchillas, degu etc. but these must come in their own cages. Similarly, a small number of birds can be accommodated. We can, however, cater for some exotic animals but please contact us with your enquiries in advance.
Sunflower Hotel is a safe knowledgeable place to leave your pets whilst going on holiday, whether it be a long weekend or a whole month! Our own pets are given daily attention and love and yours wont be treated any differently. Every pet staying with us gets a free toy to take home with them – their own holiday souvenir! Leave your pets somewhere you know they will be cared for properly, giving you peace of mind to enjoy your own holiday.

before you buy a rabbit...
It is important that you have researched and understood the care and commitments that owning a new rabbit can take. Sunflower Nursery is happy to help answer any questions you may have and we have provided care sheets to help you with this preparation. Once you are certain you will be able to give one of our rabbits a loving home we would love to hear from you and help you find your perfect new family friend. We only breed rabbits which are suitable for children, that are easy to handle and enjoy human companioship.
Should you need advise about rabbit products such as hutches and food we are only a phone call or e-mail away and our experience in the pet supplies trade allows us great insite - we are also able to supply you with all the essentials you will need to make your new rabbit healthy, happy and hopping.
What will Sunflower Hotel provide my pet with?We clean out every cage no matter how big or how small every other day and disinfect once a week.All pets are given exercise time out of their cage where appropriate.We provide all animals with fresh bedding and fresh food daily.Your pets will not come in to contact with any other animal and will get an abundance of human attention and cuddles. Every animal will be treated with experienced care and attention, as though they were one of our own!
What requirements are there for my pet to stay at Sunflower Hotel?Pets must arrive in a suitable carrier and all small animals (ie. hamsters etc.) must come in their own cages for the duration of the stay. Pets should be up to date with all vaccinations and lice protection. Full payment must be made upon leaving your pet.We cannot take pets that are already ill or unwell. Owners must give us permission to take their pets to a vet in a case of emergency and will refund all costs incurred.

What will it cost to leave my pet at Sunflower Hotel?We cater for rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, gerbils, rats, chinchillas, birds and even some exotic pets (please ask for specific details). Prices are per animal per day - discounts available for week or fornight bookings and for animals sharing a cage, see table below. Please contact us well in advance as we can get fuly booked during busy periods, ie. school holidays.

After you buy a rabbit...
We provide ongoing after care once you take your new rabbit home. As we are always happy to answer any questions you are never alone should you find that you need advice. We also guarantee that we will take back any rabbit that you are not able to continue looking after to avoid our rabbits from ending up in rescue centers if your circumstances change. Don't be afraid to get in touch with us if you are unsure of anything and remember, if you are going away on holiday we are able to take care of your pets here in our own home whilst you are away, giving you peace of mind that they will be well cared for and looked after, allowing you to enjoy your holiday.

NEW - We are now able to offer a collection and drop off service for your small pets. Going on holiday can be stressful and busy so why not let us come to you to collect your pets and return them to you once you arrive back home. This service costs just £15 for both trips (depending on location), or we can arrange just a collection or drop off for £10. Please contact us for more details.
With years of experience, we are always happy to offer advice to anyone. In the past we have helped with unplanned litters caused by rabbits from pet shops wrongly sexed, housing, nutrition and general advice about rabbit care. We recieve e-mails on a daily basis asking for help or advice and you need never feel alone. We always encourage people to gather as much information as possible so they can help their rabbit live a long and happy life - even if you are not adopting a rabbit from us.
Everyone is welcome to e-mail or phone us. All we ask is that if your rabbit is ill you seek the immediate attention of a vet who is 'rabbit savy' rather than seek our advice.

Feel free to browse our website and make use of any information we have on here. You will find pictures and information on all our own rabbits, which are primarily our much loved pets. You will also find information on up and coming litters and babies that are currently in the nest and being looked after by their Mums. Once babies are reserved this will be viewable on the Nursery pages so you can always check which babies are still available. Our care pages provide lots of useful information that you will need to know before buying a pet rabbit and if you contact us in person we are happy to email you care sheets and give any other advice you may need. As well as rabbits we occassionally have a small number of guinea pigs available also, but as these are few and far between they do get reserved quickly so feel free to get in touch and request to be put on the waiting list in advance.
